truly remarkable artist, Ion Tuculescu is little
known beyond Romania's borders. The genuine
originality of his work places him in the
illustrious lineage of late nineteenth-century
self-taught artists such as Cézanne, Gaugain, Van
Gogh whose artistic experience the Romanian painter
writes with the means of expression characteristic
of twentieth-century modern art.

Romania

a memory to be perpetuated later in the name adopted by the nation
